... and that's it. I sorta had 'The Exorcist' in my mind when I drew this chapter, hence this ending. Lots of people didn't want Fuji to meet this fate so now I feel sorta bad about it (I really didn't think anyone would give a poop about Fuji ... ). This comic wasn't meant to be this serious damnit!!

Anyway. In-game nothing really interesting happened in Pokémon Tower. Battle against Gary was uneventful and smooth, tried to catch a Gastly but it used Curse and died (which was sorta omnius and I sorta wanted to include that in the comic but then it got lost in this mess about the ghost Marowak) and that was it. Buuut, tha Pokémon Tower has a special place in my heart from when I played Blue and it was pretty spooky and then aaaall the creepypastas about it that appeared years and years back(those where the days when I was too small to figure it was all fake and got really scared by reding it late at night). I still think it is the spookiest part of any pokémon game so I wanted to include it. Anyway. Just a little bit left of this chapter now and it should be up next week.

"This comic wasn't meant to be this serious damnit!"

I have trouble believing that line~.

The seriousness is good, by the way. It's exactly that dark serious approach on the pokémon world that makes me love this comic.

I started reading this from some link on reddit ages ago thinking it might be another funny riff on the series. Well.. My sense of humour is dark enough that it satisfied that, but your story telling skills are crazy good. Keep it up :D

Another great update! Been here almost daily and I'm glad to catch in the first 24hrs!

I was loving this arc and I believe that any of us would dream that Fuji was going to die =,( On the other hand I'm happy that we are moving on with the story. I'm hoping to see some battles soon (the path from Lavender to Fushia can be a very dark one in a nuzlocke challenge), also there is still so much to happen *_*

Please, give us some more pages as soon as possible! Your fan base is growing!
Congratulations and thank you for providing us with this great story!

Been hopping on here almost every day to check for updates! I absolutely love this comic. Easily one of my favorite webcomics, if not the best one I've ever read. It's just brilliant. The amount of emotion you've put into the world and the seriousness and sadness that world entails. Can't really say enough good things about it, other than thanks so much for sharing such a great story with us!

Y...you're joking, right? By the sixth page, you had already disemboweled a Bulbasaur, which also had it's eye ripped out on the page before. Fuji getting possessed and jumping off a building is pretty light fare as far as your comic goes.

My favourite comic out there!

reply

I love the way this comic works. It hooks me in every time there is an update.

One thing I wondered is what on earth happened to Swann during that battle and how that all played out. I like that Bimm's battle was left out, as we will surely find out what happened to Gary's Ivysaur later on.

Well. Basically, when I first started this comic was meant to be comically serious and over the top dark and angsty to a point that it was funny. But apparently I can't do that so now it's only serious and angsty.

@Pyta: That is a good question. Considering Gyarados' size the battle should have ruined the entire place. But I decided to cut it because it wasn't really important to the plot (I just wanted to draw a huge scary Gyarados with dramatic thunder in the background).

@noclichehere: Cogito was put back in her ball on page 45, so I think it's safe to assume Robin still has her.

@noclichehere: As soon as Cogito got possessed, Robin put her back in the pokeball. The Marowak ghost escaped anyway, but without Cogito's body.

Nice job on this still. You were right to choose not to include the cursed Gastly - this chapter had enough going on that it would have muddied the waters. :)
